Gray Space: Windows From The Ordinary Into The Extraordinary An exhibition of black and white photographs.
A photograph has the possibility of capturing a decisive moment in a constantly flowing series of vague, disconnected impressions that make up our day. Black and white photography, in particular, has a way of capturing an emotion of that moment in daily life that one might not ordinarily see or experience in the blur from one undefined instant to the next. We turn our heads and capture only a glance of the extraordinary in the periphery of our vision - an image that barely registers in our consciousness, and so we miss it. The black and white prints in this exhibition explore those moments that border on the ambiguous, the ordinary, and the extraordinary.
The black and white photography exhibit, "Gray Space," opens on Monday, February 6 through March 2 at the Grace Albrecht Gallery, Sauder Visual Arts Center, Bluffton University, Bluffton, Ohio.
The exhibit features works by Rumanian photographer, Andrei Becheru and includes work by Jose Alvoeiro, Joe Ferreira, Portugal; Danielle Voirin, Paris; Montana Billings, New York, Craig Line, Vermont; Greg Pitts, Miami; Roger Sugden, Fort Wayne, and Ohio photographers, Danny Gantchev, Ashley Donaldson, Spencer Cunningham, and David Earl-Johnson.
